Forthcoming Vacancies on Edenhope and District Memorial Hospital Board of Directors

The Minister for Health, the Hon Jenny Mikakos MP, is pleased to invite applications for part time board positions on the Board of Directors of Edenhope and District Memorial Hospital with terms of office commencing from 1 July 2020.  

Safe and high-quality healthcare for all Victorians is a priority of the Victorian Government. Applicants for board directorships must be able to demonstrate and provide evidence in support of the skills they identify in their applications.

Edenhope is located in Western Victoria and is the major town in the West Wimmera Shire. Edenhope and District Memorial Hospital is the main health care provider for local communities in the region including Edenhope, Apsley, Harrow, Minimay and surrounding districts providing support to community members to access high quality and safe care as close to home as possible. 

Services delivered by Edenhope and District Memorial Hospital include acute care, urgent care, residential aged care, medical clinic and district nursing.

Visiting specialists include optometry, cardiology, geriatrics and psychiatry.

Allied health programs include audiology, dentistry, diabetes education, dietetics, health promotion, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, podiatry, social work, speech pathology, primary mental health.

Community Services include community health nurse, district nursing service, post-acute care, meals on wheels, adult day centre, women's health, cancer resource nurse, continence nurse, laundry services.

The Edenhope and District Memorial Hospital Board of Directors would particularly welcome applicants with expertise in 'Financial Management and Accounting' to fill an identified gap in their current board skills profile. Please refer to the attached Position Description for more details about the competencies needed on health service boards. 

These positions provide an exciting opportunity for members of the Victorian public with relevant experience and qualifications to contribute to the strategic leadership of public health care delivery to the community.
