Metropolitan Partnerships - Member

The Metropolitan Partnerships model was established to create opportunities for the community to influence decisions and shape the future of their own communities.


The Partnerships facilitate annual planning and community engagement activities each year, before submitting formal advice to the Government through the Minister for Suburban Development.

The Minister for Suburban Development, the Hon Marlene Kairouz MP, is seeking nominations from business and community leaders interested in representing their region on the Victorian Government's Metropolitan Partnerships.

Individuals from the community and business who are interested in positively shaping outcomes across the suburbs in their region are encouraged to apply to fill vacancies for new Partnership members.

There are nine current vacancies to be filled in Metropolitan Partnerships, including four in the Southern Region, two in the Northern Region, one in the Inner South-east Region, one in the Inner Metropolitan Region and one in the Western Region.

The term of appointment for new members will run until 31 March 2021.

The Victorian Government is committed to ensuring our boards represent the diversity of our communities. All applications will be assessed against the criteria outlined in the position description. A selection panel will shortlist applicants against the criteria and conduct interviews.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo probity checks, including a national police check. They will also be required to declare any private interests and awareness of any potential conflicts of interest. Recommendations of suitable candidates will be provided to the responsible Ministers and Cabinet for consideration.
