Independent Member of the Victorian Planning Authority's Risk and Audit Committee

The Victorian Planning Authority is seeking to appoint an independent member to its Risk and Audit Committee. The term of appointment for members are due to commence on 1 July 2020 for a period of three years.

About Us
The Victorian Planning Authority board is established under Section 11 the Victorian Planning Authority Act 2017. In accordance with the Act, the board is responsible for the governance, general policies and strategic direction of the VPA, with a clear purpose to provide advice and assistance as directed by the Minister for Planning in accordance with the objectives of planning in Victoria.

The Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) is a State Government statutory authority that reports to the Minister for Planning.

Under the Victorian Planning Authority Act 2017 we have a board of directors responsible for determining the general policies and strategic direction of the VPA, with a clear purpose to provide advice and assistance to the Minister for Planning and, from November 2018, to the Minister for Priority Precincts.

The role

The Authority is seeking to appoint an independent member to the Risk and Audit Committee, which oversees and provides advice on governance, risk management, audit and control assurance activities, monitoring of financial reporting and performance and statutory compliance obligations.

The Committee will meet at least four times per annum. The term of appointment for Committee members is three years.

The Authority seeks expressions of interest from suitably experienced and qualified individuals who have a strong knowledge of financial management and reporting, governance, and internal and external audit practices as related to the Victorian Public Sector

Experience in a senior financial management role in the public sector will be well regarded.
