AgriBio, the Biosciences Research Centre (BRC) is a world-class centre for agricultural biosciences research.  Established in 2008 as the result of a Joint Venture between the Victorian Government and La Trobe University. AgriBio is a $288 million Public Private Partnership (PPP) project located on site at La Trobe University which aims to deliver internationally recognised research and development outcomes for the benefit of Victoria.

The Joint Venture Board comprises three State Directors and three La Trobe University Directors with an independent Chairperson.  We are seeking expressions of interest from those who may have an interest in and are suitably qualified to be appointed as a State Director. State Directors are expected to have exposure to or understand PPP principles and bring contract management and/or facility management experience to effectively lead the BRC project in the current operating environment.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate strong management and strategic thinking capability, a very good understanding of, and experience in corporate governance, and an ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and government.  You will also have well developed commercial acumen, the capacity to lead, manage and oversight change and build partnerships with stakeholders to drive outcomes.  High level skills in one or more of the following will be highly regarded:  finance and investment, legal, commercial negotiations and/or contract management, facilities management, scientific operations or agriculture research.
