2021 Board Appointments to Victoria's Water Corporations


It's an exciting time to make a difference to the Victorian Water Sector!!

With the recent announcement of the creation of Greater Western Water Corporation and with approximately 80 board positions including 11 chairperson positions available in 2021 for Victoria's water corporations, the Minister for Water, the Hon Lisa Neville MP, is inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified and capable individuals.

Victoria's water corporations require board directors with a range of skills and expertise in areas including:

  • the water industry;
  • corporate finance or economics;
  • commercial business;
  • community engagement;
  • corporate governance or law;
  • land and water management;
  • climate change;
  • strategy and business management;
  • infrastructure and project management;
  • risk and auditing;
  • traditional Aboriginal ecological knowledge; and
  • science or engineering.

While not essential, applicants with knowledge and understanding of the Victorian water or utilities sector are encouraged to apply. Experience on public companies, community or statutory authority boards, and/or knowledge of public sector accountability frameworks is desirable.

Board appointments for Greater Western Water Corporation will commence 1 July 2021 with board appointments for the remaining water corporations to commence 1 October 2021.
