Wildlife and Small Industry Animal Ethics Committee – Category C

The Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions is seeking expressions of interest for the position of a Category C member of the Wildlife and Small Industry Animal Ethics Committee, for a term of up to three years.

The Wildlife and Small Industry Animal Ethics Committee is a non-statutory committee, whose primary responsibility is to ensure that all use and care of animals for scientific purposes by eligible institutions is ethically acceptable and conducted in accordance with the Australian code and relevant Victorian legislation.

Category C applicants are required to have the skills and experience as detailed:

  • Demonstrated commitment to, and established experience in, furthering the welfare of animals, who is not employed by or otherwise associated with the institution, and who is not currently involved in the care and use of animals for scientific purposes, or
  • Be a Veterinarian with specific animal welfare interest and experience may meet the requirements of this category.
  • Not to be representing an animal welfare organisation but may be an active membership of and endorsement by such an organisation.
